Job Purpose
The post holder is responsible for the procurement and security of stock and non-stock items held in the main and bulk stores for all Hospitals and any associated Community Sites across Lothian. They will carry out a broad range of tasks and duties some of which are complex and non-routine. They will issue all materials and stock to tradespersons and update all stock and procurement systems such as Agility and eFinns. This includes the stock and control of hazardous substances including fuel under COSSH guidelines. Sourcing and obtaining quotations from suppliers for stock and non-stock specialist items the post holder will liaise with senior managers to ensure that all services and goods are procured at best value for the organisation. They will also be responsible for the security of all items and materials within the stores environment.
