Role: Safeguarding and Wellbeing Administration Coordinator

Location: Bedford College – Cauldwell Street Campus

Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £23,557 and £26,754 per annum (Pro-Rata) DOE and Qualifications, 27 days annual leave (Pro-Rata) plus Bank holidays, People’s Pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

Hours/Weeks: 22.4 hours per week – 52 weeks per year

Contract Type: Permanent – Part Time

About the role:

We are currently seeking a Safeguarding and Wellbeing Administration Coordinator to join our Student Services department at The Bedford College Group.

As a Safeguarding and Wellbeing Administration Coordinator, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

1. Administrative Support Across Safeguarding & Wellbeing – Provide high‑quality, responsive administrative support to the Safeguarding and Wellbeing Directorate, including Heads of Department and the LAC Lead Practitioner, adapting to the specific needs of each area.
2. Data, Reporting & Quality Assurance – Collate and analyse directorate data to support performance monitoring and impact reporting, prepare reports for senior leaders and external stakeholders, and assist with audit preparation and wider quality assurance processes.
3. Learner Welfare & Systems Support – Support welfare call processes for care‑experienced and looked‑after learners, track attendance and engagement, and assist the safeguarding team with Classroom Cloud system management.
4. Event Coordination & Directorate Representation – Support the organisation and administration of directorate events and represent the Safeguarding and Wellbeing teams at Open Events and other cross‑college activities.
5. Professional Conduct, Flexibility & Compliance – Undertake additional duties as required while upholding safeguarding, equality, diversity, inclusion and health & safety responsibilities, and engaging in ongoing training and development.

About you:

6. Foundational Qualifications – Strong GCSE base including English and Maths, supporting accurate written communication and numeracy in administrative tasks.
7. Digital & IT Competence – Confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other IT systems with accuracy and attention to detail.
8. Communication & Professionalism – Clear, confident communicator (written and verbal), with a reliable, punctual and professional approach to work.
9. Adaptability, Initiative & Teamwork – Willing to learn new processes, work independently or as part of a team, and take a proactive, problem‑solving approach.
10. Customer‑Focused Mindset– Provides friendly, effective support when handling internal and external enquiries, ensuring a positive user experience.

About The Bedford College Group
The Bedford College Group was formed in 2017 following the merger of Bedford College and Tresham College and is now the largest provider of education in the South East Midlands, with over 15,000 students passing through our doors each year.
