Gynaecological Oncology Clinical Fellow

The post holder will join a dedicated 6-member Gynaecological Oncology fellow team to provide middle-grade clinical cover for inpatient care in the ward or High Dependency Unit / Intensive Therapy Unit. They will also participate in outpatient clinics (joint oncology, colposcopy, pre-operative), Gynaecology MDT Clinics, Vulval, Colposcopy clinics, and Gynaecological oncology theatres. The role includes participation in the Gynaecology Oncology middle-grade on-call rota (not during normal working hours, non-resident cover, 1 in 6), with occasional coverage of the general gynaecology on-call rota depending on career stage. The department has hosted research fellows pursuing Master's in Gynaecological Oncology (MCh Gyn Oncology) and MD (self-funded registration). The job plan is a guide and may change based on on-call commitments and departmental needs. The post duration is a minimum of 1 year, extendable to 2 or 3 years depending on training or research requirements.
Main duties of the job
1. Provide middle-grade clinical cover for inpatient care in ward/HDU/ITU.
2. Participate in outpatient clinics, Gynaecologic oncology MDTs, and theatre work.
3. Contribute to work in Gynaecologic oncology theatres.
4. Participate in the Gynaecology Oncology middle-grade on-call rota.
5. Provide inpatient care coverage and participate in outpatient and theatre work as outlined.

Person Specification
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
* Confidence in gynaecological surgical skills evidenced by ATSM/SITM.
* Appropriate clinical knowledge and enthusiasm for evidence-based practice.
* Ability to manage time and prioritise clinical needs.
* Evidence of laparoscopy skills.
Qualifications
* Full GMC registration with a licence to practice.
* Primary medical qualification recognised by the GMC.
* Part 3 MRCOG completed.
* Evidence of distinction at university or postgraduate examinations.
* Certification of previous robotic training.
Experience
* At least 7 years of clinical experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
* Involvement in audit, quality improvement, or research projects.
