Our Water sector contractor are seeking a Senior Health and Safety Advisor to join their Thames Water AMP8 delivery programme on a permanent basis out of Camberley or Reading.
The Thames Water AMP8 Capital Delivery Programme covers a mix of projects ranging from smaller capital maintenance to large civil new build schemes. Working on a variety of water and wastewater projects across the Thames Water Framework you will be involved in the design, construction, commissioning and putting to work of contracts to ensure they are completed in the most efficient manner.
The Group Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) Department is responsible for ensuring that our client operates in a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible manner through the implementation of the Group SHE Management System and Group SHE Plan. The Group SHE Management System provides a framework and standards for managing safety, health and environmental risks and opportunities and aims to prevent injury, ill health and provide a safe working environment and protect and enhance the natural environment in balance with socio-economic requirements throughout all activities and operations.
Responsibilities
Support and Influence Contract Leadership Team, Clients, and other Stakeholders in compliance with the Group SHE Management System and Contract SHE Performance
Support and where required deliver training, to allow the contract team to successfully implement the Group SHE Management System
Coach and support the Contract Operational and Supply Chain Contractors in the delivery of the Contract SHE requirements
Where required be actively involved in the ongoing assessment of the Contracts Supply Chain Contractors
Actively support the delivery of the annual Contract and Group SHE Objectives
Actively engage with the Contract SHE Assurance programme to ensure compliance with company and statutory requirements
Actively support the investigation of all unplanned events and close out of assurance findings, ensuring lessons are shared in accordance with the Group SHE Management System
Support the timely reporting, analysis, and use of SHE data to support and influence the Contract Leadership Team and where required support the development and implementation of data-based improvement plans
Skills/experience/qualifications
IOSH or AIEMA or equivalent
NEBOSH Construction Certificate or
NEBOSH Oil and Gas or
IEMA Associate Qualification (Course) or equivalent
Cert IOSH or AIEMA or equivalent
NEBOSH Occupational Safety Diploma or Environmental Diploma or equivalent
