Job summary
The Children and Young People\'s Mental Health Community Intensive Support Team (RAIST) aims to transform the way in which crisis care is experienced by children, young people (CYP) and those who care for them by developing a service which is child-centred, needs-led, responsive, accessible and flexible. The post holder will be responsible for promoting positive attitudes towards young people with complex mental health needs and for maintaining a responsive and non-stigmatising service, which will enhance social inclusion, support recovery and deliver better outcomes. The role involves leadership within the Children and Young People\'s Mental Health Community Intensive Support Team, providing intensive community-based and acute setting support and interventions for young people and their families. The hours of operation are variable and will require unsociable hours across 7 days per week. Positions available in The Bay and Central & West locality.
Responsibilities
* Provide direct clinical work; work intensively with children, young people and those who care for them.
* Maintain and improve the overall quality and effectiveness of the service.
* Promote a child-centred, needs-led, responsive, accessible and flexible urgent care pathway for CYP and families.
* Lead and manage within the team to ensure social inclusion, recovery and better outcomes.
* Collaborate across professional and organisational boundaries to deliver integrated care.
Band, salary and terms
* Band 7
* Salary: £47,810 to £54,710 per annum (subject to confirmation)
* Contract: Permanent
* Working pattern: Full-time
Qualifications
* Registered professional qualification in Nursing, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or equivalent
* Educated to degree level or equivalent
* Evidence of post-registration professional development and training relevant to the role (e.g., CYP-specific or MH training)
Knowledge
* Detailed knowledge of child safeguarding procedures and responsibilities
* Knowledge of legislation relating to the patient group and mental health, including the Mental Health Act and issues of capacity and consent
* Knowledge of recovery models and promoting independence
* Knowledge of outcome measures inputting and use
* Knowledge of policy guidance and legislation relating to children and young people
* Knowledge of crisis and risk management procedures and risk assessment/risk reduction strategies
Experience
* Relevant post-qualifying experience of working within children and families
* Experience of undertaking and monitoring/auditing robust risk assessments and risk management plans
* Experience of working as a senior clinician and managing complex cases within mental health or social care services
* Experience of cross-agency collaboration and exercising full clinical responsibility for patient care and treatment
* Experience of teaching, training and/or professional and clinical supervision
* Experience of accessing and providing effective clinical supervision and managing conflicting priorities
Other requirements
* Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check as part of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act requirements
* UK professional registration
