We’re looking for a creative, adaptable and enthusiastic Marketing Assistant to support two of the UK’s most emerging brands - Cornwall Airport Newquay, a fast-growing regional airport connecting the South West to the UK and beyond, and Spaceport Cornwall, the UK’s first licensed spaceport and a trailblazer in integrated air and space operations. Role Purpose This role presents an exciting opportunity to work at an internationally unique air and space operational environment. Spaceport Cornwall is the UK’s first licenced spaceport and conducted the UK’s historic first sovereign satellite launch in 2023. The team is working with launch and future flight operators from all over the world. The site is the only location globally to have successfully integrated launch operations with commercial passenger airport services. We are particularly interested in candidates who bring experience from the aerospace sector, as this will be vital in driving the Spaceport Cornwall brand forward and strengthening our connections across the global space industry. About the role This is a varied and interesting role for someone looking to develop their marketing career in a dynamic and fast paced environment. What you'll be doing • Assist with implementation, tracking and analysis of marketing and PR campaign activities. • Create engaging and informative content for various platforms, including social media channels, mailers and press releases. • Maintain and update content on the airport and spaceport’s website and social media platforms. • Monitor and engage with customers/potential customers through the airport and spaceport’s social media channels and assist in implementing platform strategies and campaigns. • Preparation of PowerPoint decks and internal newsletters in the company branding. • Produce artwork for adverts, signage and other collateral, liaising with external agencies as necessary. • Manage various contact databases and keep up to date. • Schedule and track all marketing activity ensuring all deadlines are met and campaigns are delivered on time. • Assist in improving customer experience in respect of the airport and spaceport terminal, i.e., signage, wayfinding and placemaking. • Be a brand ambassador, ensuring correct use and consistency throughout the business and at every customer touch point. • Assist with preparation, implementation and analysis of customer surveys. • General administrative assistance for the Marketing and Commercial team. • Assist with and attend events, either on or off site (this may on occasion be outside normal working hours). • Assist with the collation and use of data within the business. • Be responsible for own continuing self-development, undertaking training as appropriate. • Carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the overall function, commensurate with the grading and level of responsibility of the post. Qualifications & Experience The following qualifications and experience are essential: • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Outlook in particular), social media platforms and content management systems. • Previous experience in a marketing role. • Good basic level of education including Maths and English. • Experience of working in a busy office environment and building relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The following qualifications and experience are desirable: • Experience in using social media platforms for business. • Working knowledge of graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) • Experience in website management using CMS. • Experience in working in travel, tourism, aviation or aerospace. • A marketing, advertising, media or design qualification, or working towards completion.
