Title: Long-term Substitute English Language Learner Teacher (ELL) - Elementary School
Estimated Duration: September 21, 2025 - November 17, 2025
Summary
Reporting to the Director of Student Services and Special Education, the ELL Teacher will develop students' English language skills, supervise classroom activities, develop lesson plans, collaborate with staff and parents, and respond to inquiries regarding student progress.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Administer language assessments to evaluate student ability.
* Communicate student progress to parents/guardians and collaborate on improvement strategies.
* Assess student progress and provide feedback.
* Collaborate with staff and community resources to enhance student outcomes.
* Demonstrate teaching methods tailored to individual student needs.
* Instruct students to improve academic success and communication skills in English.
* Model effective English communication.
* Prepare written documentation of student progress.
* Assist classroom teachers with curriculum implementation and student plans.
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree required.
* Valid licensure as an ELL Teacher from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Basic math, reading, document composition, group facilitation, and analytical skills.
* Assessment application, office software proficiency, record-keeping.
* Scheduling, data management, equipment operation, problem-solving, relationship building, adaptability, confidentiality, tact, and patience.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
Primarily indoor work in a school setting; occasional outdoor travel; ability to lift up to 25 lbs.; accommodations available for disabilities.
