Overview
Holtec International seeks applicants for the Nuclear Physicists and Engineers role. The company is a turnkey supplier of the SMR-300 and a leading provider of nuclear power plant equipment and systems to the global nuclear industry. Positions are available at the Company’s technology campus in Camden, NJ, or at other operation centers as referenced. The recruitment targets candidates with qualifications ranging from fresh graduates to experienced specialists in nuclear engineering or physics, with opportunities to join a team led by SVP Dr. Stefan Anton at the Corporate Engineering Center in Camden, NJ. The role may involve occasional domestic and international travel due to interactions with US national labs, USNRC, operating nuclear power plants, and overseas regulatory authorities.
The successful candidate will work on nuclear criticality and shielding analyses using state-of-the-art software and, depending on experience, may contribute to core loading plans for the reactor at the Company-owned Palisades nuclear plant and for the SMR-300 fleet planned for global clients. Holtec emphasizes a vigorous applied R&D program that supports new product development and its reputation in nuclear technology.
Responsibilities
* Perform nuclear criticality and shielding analyses using software such as MCNP, CASMO/SIMULATE, and SCALE.
* Contribute to core loading plans for the Palisades reactor and the SMR-300 fleet.
* Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including national labs and regulatory authorities, as part of project work.
Qualifications
* B.S. degree in nuclear engineering; an advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in a relevant nuclear sub-discipline is preferred.
* Industrial or academic experience in the nuclear energy field.
* General knowledge of nuclear power plant operations and physics.
* Demonstrated neutronics or radiation transport analytical skills are favorable.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range: $85,000 to $190,000
