Job overview
Dover College is a highly successful co-educational, boarding and day school of circa 300 pupils. Around a third of our pupils are boarders, drawn from the UK and countries around the world, providing an inclusive environment for children aged 2 to 18.
Situated in the picturesque heart of Dover, we are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and organised Exams Officer & Cover Supervisor. This role is 33 weeks per year, plus an additional 2 weeks in August covering exam results weeks.
The successful candidate will provide classroom cover, supervising pupils during lessons and activities within the school during periods of teacher absence. In addition, as Exams Officer, you will be responsible for exam timetabling, entry submissions, invigilation arrangements, and ensuring full compliance with awarding body regulations and policy development. You'll liaise with staff, students, and exam boards to coordinate every stage of the exam cycle. Training for the Exams Officer element of the role can be provided for the right candidate.
It is essential that you have experience of working in a school or further education environment, and can demonstrate good behaviour management and interpersonal skills, along with sound knowledge of common IT applications (including the Microsoft Office and Google suite of office tools). The successful candidate will have exceptionally strong organisational and time management skills, a flexible approach, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Education to degree level is a distinct advantage.
We are committed to the safeguarding of children, and expect all staff to share this commitment. All employees must have the ability to understand and adhere to Child Protection and Safeguarding legislation. References will be taken prior to interview, and an enhanced level DBS check will be conducted on the successful applicant in line with Safer Recruitment principles.
To apply: please complete our application form.
We reserve the right to invite candidates for interview prior to the closing date and to close vacancies early if we have sufficient suitable applications. Therefore, we encourage interested applicants to submit an application as soon as possible.
