Would you like to join our small team of Carers/Personal Assistance to support a gent with a spinal injury who is wheelchair dependant in his own home family/friendly environment.
Job purpose:
To assist with a wide variety of tasks which will enable/assist the employer/person who needs care and support to live their personal and social life according to their wishes and interests.
This role involves Day shifts or overnight support.
Variety of shifts available- Days and Nights job advert states full time but part time is also available.
About the employer:
Mr Nathan Clark:
I suffered a spinal cord injury in November 2019 due to a motorcycle accident. I broke my spine in various places and damaged my spinal cord at level c5, due to this damage it has left me paralysed from the chest down, and I now suffer with tetraplegia.
Main duties:
Social duties, support to:
Keep in touch and socialise with family and friends
Attend work
Attend medical appointments
Hobbies
Attend social events
To assist with UK & abroad holidays.
To help with Gym and Physiotherapy
To support with personal care & dressing
Administering medication
Domestic duties
All of the above will vary day to day.
Type of person that I am looking for:
Values, honest, reliable, punctual, non-judgemental, ability to build good relationships based on trust and respect, flexible, adaptable, easy going, able to work alone, positive, willingness to travel, understands equality and diversity or has a good sense of humour.
Requirements, ideally some experience in a similar role but is not essential as all training will be given.
What you can expect to receive:
Permanent full/part time position.
Hours of work:
Various shifts over a 24hour period throughout a 7 day week. Can be fixed shifts and times depending on business needs.
Rate of pay:
Competitive rate of pay, meets national minimum wage.
Skills, qualifications and experience
Essential:
Driving licence - Not essential
Appropriate business insurance if self-employed.
Good communicator
Likes dogs or other pets - non in the household at this point but family pets visit.
A good listener, able to follow verbal and written instructions
