This recruitment is for a Level 3 post. You must have completed your ASYE and have a minimum of 2 years' experience working in mental health.

We are seeking a motivated experienced social worker to join the North London Forensic Service (NLFS) based in Chase Farm Hospital, Enfield on a part‑time basis. As an SW England registered social worker who may be an AMHP, you will bring a social perspective to the multi‑disciplinary team’s formulation and, in line with the ‘Forensic Mental Health Social Work: Capabilities Framework’, you will deliver appropriate interventions. You will discharge statutory duties, work in partnership with a wide range of stakeholders and agencies, and ensure effective bridges are built between in‑patient detention and community discharge processes, promoting social inclusion and recovery.

Main Tasks

* Work with approximately 20 patients, assessing risk and social care needs and identifying appropriate care pathways across medium and low secure, outreach, learning disability, women’s service acute and rehabilitation wards.
* Respond to safeguarding concerns, including those involving adults and children.
* Apply relevant legislation and guidance in practice (e.g. MHA, MCA, Care Act, Criminal Justice Act, Children Act, HRA, DVCV Act).
* Work with families, victims and family victims, making referrals to MAPPA and MARAC.
* Complete various social work reports (e.g. MHT & MHAM presenting reports for MHT & AHM hearings and MOJ social supervision).
* Balance public protection with the least restrictive option principle.
* Work alongside the patient's Responsible Borough to complete needs assessments, housing and funding panel applications.

Qualifications

* Completed ASYE.
* Minimum two years of experience in mental health.
* SW England registered and may be an AMHP.
