NURSERY MANAGER

Term time only

Solihull

£34,000 (DOE) PRO RATA

The Nursery Manager will need to have a minimum of a Level 3 Early Years Education and Childcare qualification and ideally a degree or further related qualification and with relevant experience of working within the early year’s sector.

They will need to demonstrate excellent knowledge of OFSTED Standard and the Early Years Foundation Stage.

Requirements

* Minimum of a relevant and recognised Level 3 qualification or above.
* Experience as Senior Practitioner as Deputy Manager
* First Aid Certificate
* Basic Food Hygiene
* Safeguarding Training
* DSL
* Experience in an Early Years Setting
* Experience of working with the EYFS
* Knowledge of Legislation and Curriculum
* Ability to work with families
* Basic knowledge of SEN
* Understanding of Equal Opportunities
* Awareness of Health & Safety
* Ability to be flexible with working hours and duties

The Nursery Manger will be responsible for:

* Ensuring a high standard of physical, personal, emotional and intellectual education and care for all the children in the nursery.
* Supervision of, and support of the team members within the nursery by implementing high standards of quality practices.
* Ensuring the staff team are working to their full potential and implement support programs and training according to individual needs to achieve this.
* Overseeing staff, conduct necessary reviews/reports/observations of both children and staff.
* The day to day management of the nursery.
* All associated administration.
* Showing new parents around and being actively involved in the marketing of the nursery.

Nursery Manager duties:

* To promote the high standards of the nursery at all times to parents, staff and visitors.
* To provide all team members with the support and resources required for the early identification and intervention for children with possible special needs.
* Co-ordinating and chairing staff meetings as appropriate including agendas and minutes.
* To also plan other events such as parents and/or information evenings and open days
* To plan ahead and undertake quarterly staffing appraisals with all staff for whom you are responsible for within the nursery ensuring SMART objectives are set in line with the overall nursery objectives and the staffs’ individual goals. performance managed appropriately if necessary
* To plan and organise staffing schedules and holiday rotas to ensure adequate staffing levels are maintained in accordance with Ofsted guidelines and nursery procedures.
* To adhere to, and support all team members to understand and follow, the legal requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
* To follow all relevant acts including the Equality Act 2010 and the Data Protection Act 1998 that relate to staff employment and record keeping.
* Liaising with Ofsted and other professional bodies associated with the nursery.
* Overseeing the efficient upkeep and maintenance of the building and grounds, stock and equipment, furnishings and fittings.
* Being responsible for all administrative duties associated with the management of the facility, for example; maintaining records on the children and their families, maintaining an inventory and keeping personnel records. Please note this includes ensuring a clear desk policy is maintained at all times at close of business.
* To instigate the development and implementation of systems to monitor and record child development.
* To be responsible for the overall health & safety standards within the nursery and ensuring staff compliance and awareness, including training where appropriate.
* To ensure the provision of high quality environment to meet the needs of individual children regardless of any disabilities, family backgrounds or medical history.
* To report back to the Owner information relating to finance, occupancy, quality of the provision and anything else deemed necessary.
* To undertake such other duties and responsibilities of an equivalent nature as maybe determined from time to time by the Owner.
