About the role
Role: Pharmacy Dispenser. Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne Extra. Employment type: Full-time. Salary: from £12.87 per hour, rising to £14.08 per hour for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may apply depending on location. The company policy offers a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours per week, with options to work a minimum of 12 hours if preferred.
Availability: The employer provides availability windows and will schedule contracted hours with 3 weeks notice of shifts. Flexibility is available; if your available times are close but not exactly the advertised times, you are encouraged to apply.
Hours availability example (days and time windows):
* Mon: 08:00 – 14:30
* Wed: 15:45 – 20:00
* Thu: 15:45 – 20:00
* Fri: 10:00 – 18:30
* Sat: 08:00 – 14:30
Customer focus is central to the role. You will work with experienced Pharmacists and managers and receive local management support. You will be part of a team delivering high-quality healthcare services, including dispensing medicines, assisting customers with new medicines, vaccinations, and health checks where appropriate.
Typical duties include:
* Dispensing prescription medicines with accuracy and attention to detail
* Providing confident, friendly customer service
* Advising customers on common ailments, symptoms, and products
* Understanding customer needs and recommending appropriate products
* Promoting and delivering Pharmacy services in line with Standard Operating Procedures
* Assessing the legal appropriateness of dispensed prescriptions
* Handling clinical and legal queries from Healthcare practitioners
* Responding to customer queries regarding prescriptions
* Maintaining clean and compliant dispensary and consulting rooms
* Completing all prescription administration accurately and on time
* Supporting promotional activities and company initiatives
* Carrying out procedures to protect profit and ensure safe, legal trade
* Completing corporate and departmental training and keeping up to date with legal and professional developments
You will need
* Qualifications gained from working in a Pharmacy environment
* A desire to train and develop into the Pharmacy field
