LOCATION: New Broadcasting House, London
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £27,300 - £32,481 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE BBC Radio London has a vacancy for an in-studio reporter to join our Breakfast team. We are looking for an instinctive journalist with a brilliant voice and the ability to tell stories in a compelling way.
You'll live and breathe London and understand what makes the city tick. We are looking for a dynamic reporter who will thrive in a busy newsroom and who can deliver the kind of creative content that keeps listeners coming back for more. You will be organised, meticulous and have sound editorial judgement. You must have the ability to work under pressure; in a team and on your own. You'll be brilliant at finding and chasing stories and understand the changing demands of our audiences.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
From a base in the newsroom deliver live updates during the breakfast show.
Follow breaking and developing stories and update on air as required.
Collaborate closely with producers, presenters, and the wider newsroom team.
Maintain editorial standards and uphold the BBC's commitment to impartiality and accuracy.
After the show help prepare content for the next days programme.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
Proven experience in broadcast journalism, preferably in radio.
Confident and clear on-air delivery with excellent communication skills.
Strong editorial judgment and ability to react quickly to breaking news.
Deep understanding of the stories that matter most to Londoners.
Ability to work early mornings and thrive in a fast-paced studio environment.
