Role Overview
Assistant Store Manager role within our Ilkley shop, part of Store Management team responsible for assisting the Store Manager in creating a customer‑focused service culture, driving sales, profitability, and KPI achievement.
Responsibilities
* Assist the Store Manager in creating a service culture centring on customer experience.
* Guide store team in recommending additional services to drive sales including omni‑channel selling and add‑on purchases.
* Recruit and build a diverse, passionate team in partnership with the Store Manager.
* Drive store sales, profitability and consistent KPI achievement, understanding performance drivers.
* Coaching and developing staff through regular 121s and development plans.
* Communicate store performance to team and stakeholders, providing feedback and identifying risks and opportunities.
* Implement visual merchandising, windows standards and product guidelines to maximise commercial opportunities.
* Utilise product information to maximise sales opportunities.
* Manage store operations: stock, loss prevention, incident reporting, health & safety, GDPR, cash handling, key holder responsibilities and store safety standards.
* Act as sole key holder and run store independently when required.
Qualifications & Skills
Previous experience leading a team at supervisor level or above, preferably in retail or equivalent environment, with proven KPI achievement and budget management. Strong retail, product knowledge and commercial acumen. Excellent communication, coaching ability, and a passion for building a culture of trust and performance.
