About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher to join our specialist school in Lewisham, working with KS2 pupils with Autism (ASC) and additional learning needs. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people, helping them develop both academically and socially in a supportive, structured environment.
We welcome applications from both experienced SEND teachers and mainstream teachers who are looking to transition into special education—full training and ongoing support will be provided.
What We Are Looking For:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS (Essential).
* Class teacher role with care and pastoral responsibility for a class of primary aged learners (KS2).
* Proven primary teaching experience in UK schools.
* SEN experience preferred but not essential if you can demonstrate a keen interest in SEN.
* A passion for working with young people with Autism (ASC) and complex needs.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
* A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach to teaching and learning.
* A commitment to promoting inclusion and independence for all learners.
* Willingness to undertake training in Autism-specific strategies and communication approaches (e.g., TEACCH, PECS, Makaton).
