An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, enthusiastic midwife to Manage our Antenatal Clinic and Antenatal Day assessment unit. We are looking for a highly motivated Band 6 midwife or existing Band 7 midwife with excellent organisational skills and an interest in outpatient care. Role and Responsibilities
Main duties of the job
* Hold on a 24 hour basis continuing responsibility as the professional and managerial lead for the team with responsibility for recruitment, deployment, supervision and development of staff, and be accountable for the quality of service provision in the designated geographical area/s.
* Work autonomously within departmental/Trust guidelines and professional sphere of practice, abiding by the Midwives rules and standards (NMC 05.04).
* Be responsible for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes for a defined group of women.
* Work with multidisciplinary/agency groups involved in health and social care to childbearing women and their families to continually improve maternity care, and obtain user views as appropriate.

Job Description and Responsibilities
The Antenatal Clinic and Antenatal Day Assessment Unit form part of the Outpatient Department at Midland Metropolitan University Hospital. The Band 7 Manager will have overall responsibility for both outpatient areas, providing leadership and support to staff.
Key responsibilities include managing staff sickness in line with organisational policy, overseeing rota management, ensuring staff training and compliance, leading audits, and working collaboratively with the Human Resources department as required.
The role also includes a clinical commitment, with a minimum of 7.5 hours per week allocated to clinical practice to support service delivery. The post holder will have oversight of the day-to-day operational running of both areas, ensuring the safe, effective, and high-quality delivery of care to women and their families.

* Essential: Registered Midwife on Part 2 of the NMC professional register
* Mentor/assessor training
* Specialist qualification for post
