Qualification
Essential criteria
1. BSc (Hons) Radiotherapy
2. HCPC Registration
3. MSc qualification relevant to pre-treatment. OR PGCert with Radiotherapy planning element / Imaging / leadership. OR minimum of 5 years current pre-treatment experience.
Desirable criteria
4. Cannulation Trained
5. MSc or equivalent which would support role and department
6. Leadership qualification such BTEc, or apprenticeship or attendance of internal training programme.
Experience
Essential criteria
7. Current experience of at least 12 months in pre-treatment at a senior radiographer level.
8. Ability to demonstrate knowledge of pre- treatment equipment and technology, complex techniques, and issues of patient care commensurate with the grade of the position
9. Significant experience of working with whole range of radiotherapy techniques and equipment
10. Evidence of developing staff by training and delegation.
11. Ability to manage groups of staff effectively
Desirable criteria
12. Participation in planning in a range of specialised techniques
13. Previous demonstrable participation in research and/or audit.
14. Evidence of multi-disciplinary team working
Skills
Essential criteria
15. Ability to lead, motivate and manage team members
16. Ability to perform technically advanced procedures
17. Proven track record in training developing and accessing students and radiographers
18. Ability to convey highly complex instructions, ideas, and opinions clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.
Desirable criteria
19. Participation in quality assurance and clinical audit.

20. Evidence of high quality patient care.
21. Excellent interpersonal skills with all members of the multidisciplinary team

Knowledge
Essential criteria
26. A thorough and detailed knowledge of principles and concepts underpinning the broad range of applications and techniques used in radiotherapy
27. Knowledge and understanding of current oncology issues.
28. Excellent clinical and judgement skills to be able to analyse and make professional judgements on diagnostic and CT planning images. To include reviewing patients and their conditions and symptoms to assess suitability for planning, and treatment. To analyse the radiotherapy referral compared and relate to patient’s physical condition.
