Job Purpose

Support the delivery of commercial results of Brands, Licensing, Retail and Live Events based in the ANZ region, delivering growth and revenue across the BBC brand. Provide critical leadership driving team culture, morale and working practices, as well as developing commercial capability and strategic ability across the team. Act as a local, key point of contact to external stakeholders including broadcast, executive producers and creators.


Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Commercial

* Work with manager to deliver targets and priorities local regions including ANZ.
* Be the senior lead and key contributor in commercial negotiations, ensuring the best possible terms are achieved to deliver against targets.
* Act as the primary point for key regional decisions, enabling effective and timely responses aligned with business goals.
* Serve as a trusted conduit between the B&L Australia team and senior internal stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment.
* Act as a local resource and key personnel to high-value external partners across AU and beyond.
* Oversee individual deals to meet targets, deadlines and ensure commercial terms are delivered.
* Drive new business, identifying new commercial opportunities to achieve and exceed global growth objectives
* Advocate for local market data and analytics to inform potential strategies for growth
* Be the brand ambassador and commercial guidance, representing the business’ editorial/ brand involvement, while providing solutions that balance brand editorial and commercial opportunity.
* Work with global, multidisciplinary teams to ensure that all relevant updates and details needed for effective delivery of a deal are considered, includes deal precedents or cross division opportunities
* Collaborate with regional teams on global opportunities, maximizing brand impact and commercial value for potential multi-regional deals.


Leadership

* Drive process improvements and implement more efficient ways of working across the team, with a focus on long-term sustainability.
* Inspire, mentor and upskill area leads in key commercial competencies


Knowledge, Skills, Training and Experience

* Strong communication and analytical skills required
* Ability to effectively and tactfully deal with diverse staff at all levels; ability to work in teams & influence teams, particularly those in other countries
* Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
* Self-starter with the ability to see projects through to completion, problem solve, and multi-task under time constraints
* Intellectual curiosity and commercial acumen
* Ability to deal with ambiguity and collaborate across boundaries
* Experience in strategic brand, marketing editorial or commercial experience
* Media sector experience is desirable
* Track record of working with world class brands


Job Impact

Decision making

* Working with a complex network of stakeholders, this role will seek to identify, develop and deliver brand, genre and sales opportunities.

Scope

* They will work independently to identify opportunities working with senior positions in shaping and delivering.

Strategic Impact/Influence

* This role will support the development and implementation of commercial strategy across the portfolio.

Reporting Structure

Commercial Directors and Heads of businesses, regional leads, content leads and production teams
