We're on the lookout for a talented and passionate Junior Sous Chef to join our warm and dynamic team at Common Ground, one of North London's best-loved brunch spots (as featured in Conde Nast Traveller, The Nudge and The Modern House).
This is a daytime-only role in a friendly, fast-paced kitchen that's proudly meat- and fish-free. We're an independent, values-driven business that cares about ethics, sustainability, and our people.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll play a key role supporting the Head Chef to run a smooth and dynamic kitchen. This role is ideal for someone with solid kitchen experience who's ready for their next role.
* Help lead the small kitchen team, ensuring smooth daily service and a positive team culture
* Step up to take charge when the Head Chef is away
* Maintain consistently high standards of food quality, hygiene, and presentation
* Work cleanly and efficiently in a busy kitchen with lots of moving parts
* Support stock control, supplier relationships, and kitchen systems
* Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are always met
What We're Looking For
* Previous experience in a similar role
* A positive, can-do team player with strong communication skills
* Solid understanding of food safety and allergen procedures
* Calm under pressure and focused on delivering consistently high standards
* Flexible availability to help meet the needs of the rota
