Underwriting Support:
1. Enter enquiries, quotes, new and renewal business and endorsements into policy administration system in accordance with underwriting guidelines and within agreed timelines and accuracy levels (including creating of risk references)
2. Timely management of risk documentation within folders and document management systems
3. Track the status of all risks through every stage in the risk cycle
4. Track and monitor policy subjectivities
5. Production and issuance of policy documentation
6. Management of team email inboxes
7. Monitor upcoming renewals and new risks in the business pipeline
8. Research submissions using appropriate sources e.g. 4Coffshore, Recharge
9. Provide pre-underwriting and rating support to Underwriters, ensuring calculations of premiums and local taxes are accurate for reporting requirements
10. Adherence with Lloyd’s Minimum Standards including Pre-Bind Quality Assurance
11. Ensure accurate and timely capture of estimated income, declarations and management of quarterly bordereaux
12. Send risk and location information to the Exposure Management team for modelling
Broker/Client Interaction:
13. Provide a professional service to brokers, clients and third parties
14. Maintain and develop key relationships, responding to queries in a timely fashion.
15. Prepare briefs, attend and take minutes for client and broker meetings as required.
16. Liaise with brokers to ensure all slips and additional information received is accurate and complete and on time.
Reporting & Operational Requirements:
17. Provide accurate management information to the Underwriting team and senior management
18. Produce ad hoc reports, presentations and other team literature for key relations as and when requested.
19. Monitor credit control and aged debt ensuring the timely collection of premiums
20. Ensure all data verification checks are completed in a timely manner and errors escalated and resolved accordingly
21. Provide reporting for weekly meetings
22. Ensure all month end activities are completed within required timeframes to facilitate Syndicate and Lloyd’s reporting and exception reports, including: LPSOs allocated to policies and audit trail maintainedrisks moved to status of Written pricing information accurate and complete in policy administration system differences in premium resolved in the policy administration systemchecks, referrals and peer reviews complete and evidenced in the document management system
General Requirements:
23. Identify and report problems within the underwriting administration system and assist with solution design
24. Assist with User Acceptance Testing of the underwriting administration system as and when required
25. Interact with all SMAL teams i.e. exposure management, underwriting management, claims, finance, operations and compliance on matters affecting or related to accounts within the team’s portfolio
26. Help maintain SMAL minimum standards achieving service/quality levels and targets as required
27. Participate in cross-team projects
28. Undertake any other reasonable duties as may be requested by SMAL staff
29. Comply with SMAL policies, procedures and regulations relevant to your role
30. Manage training needs through attendance of relevant training and exams as advised by your line manager and also market presentations where relevant to your role
