We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Water Team in Scotland, contributing to high‑impact projects such as the SR27 Enterprise programme with Scottish Water.
Here’s what you’ll do:
* Prepare feasibility studies, outline design, detailed design and construction support;
* Produce plant layouts, design drawings and mechanical plant selection, including specifications, WIMES data sheets, valve schedules, equipment schedules, lifting strategies, hydraulic headloss calculations and P&IDs for water projects;
* Liaise and collaborate with water and other discipline teams (civil, electrical, process and mechanical engineers) nationwide;
* Visit sites to carry out surveys and support liaisons with clients, contractors and suppliers;
* Attend and contribute to design review meetings such as HAZOPs, HAZIDs, ALMs and SWIFTS;
* Line‑manage and mentor junior and graduate mechanical engineers;
* Check mechanical deliverables produced by other engineers.

Here’s what we’re looking for:
* A degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering;
* Progress towards Chartered Engineer status with a relevant institution such as IMechE;
* A proven ability to deliver engineering designs, reports, drawings, technical specifications, and calculations with confidence and precision;
* Hands‑on experience delivering innovative solutions for water and wastewater engineering projects.
