We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business based in Dudley who are looking to appoint an experienced Manufacturing Process Team Leader to support their Post Forge production area.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone with strong CNC machining knowledge, machine setting experience, and process improvement capability, combined with the ability to lead a team and support production performance targets.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring daily production output targets are achieved, maintaining quality standards, supporting continuous improvement activities, and helping drive efficiency across the department.
Key Responsibilities
Safety
* Ensure company safety and ergonomic rules are followed at all times
* Monitor correct use of PPE across the team
* Identify and escalate safety risks where required
Production & Performance
* Support delivery of daily production activities in line with KPIs
* Ensure output aligns with production plans
* Support immediate countermeasures during unplanned production issues
Quality
* Ensure all production meets quality and technical specifications
* Manage work in progress (WIP) in line with production schedules
* Inspect components using precision measuring equipment
Process & Continuous Improvement
* Monitor daily start-up and shutdown checks
* Support production, inspection and packaging activities across the department
* Control machine settings to maximise output performance
* Carry out regular machine cell patrol inspections
* Lead jig and tooling changeovers in line with safety and efficiency standards
People & Training
* Attend and support daily team meetings
* Assist with training new operators on standard operating procedures
* Participate in company training programmes
Improvement Activities
* Support continuous improvement initiatives
* Assist with non-conformance corrective actions
* Participate in cycle time analysis
* Contribute to Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) programmes
Candidate Requirements
* Previous Team Leader or supervisory experience within manufacturing
* Strong CNC machine operation knowledge
* Machine and tooling setting experience
* Experience supporting process improvement activities
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
* Experience using measuring equipment
* Forklift truck licence (desirable)
* SAP knowledge (desirable)
Working Hours
This role operates on a 37-hour alternating shift pattern, with a 12% shift allowance:
Early shift
06:00 – 14:00 Monday to Thursday
06:00 – 11:00 Friday
Late shift
13:45 – 21:45 Monday to Thursday
10:45 – 15:45 Friday
