Who we’re looking for
4. Qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive, or equivalent level of experience
5. NQ–5 PQE
6. Experience advising on health and welfare proceedings in the Court of Protection
7. Familiarity with the Mental Capacity Act 2005
8. Previous experience working under a legal aid contract
9. Strong IT and case management system skills
What you’ll be doing
10. Advising and representing clients in Court of Protection health and welfare proceedings
11. Visiting clients in care settings and delivering clear, empathetic legal advice
12. Drafting court applications and managing files with ongoing risk assessment
13. Attending and representing at hearings
14. Ensuring cases meet Legal Aid Agency and Law Society standards
15. Managing files efficiently to meet WIP and billing targets
16. Delegating to and supervising junior team members
17. Supporting business development and marketing of the department’s work
