Salary: ¥49,387 – ¥56,515 per annum (pro rata).

Job overview
The Highly Specialist Clinical Physiologist in Echocardiography will deliver cardiac and respiratory diagnostics across the Trust, providing independent transthoracic echocardiography and supporting training and audit functions.
Main duties of the job
* Perform and report adult transthoracic echocardiograms for inpatients and outpatients.
* Provide training and support to clinical physiologists and specialty doctors.
* Provide clinical support and supervision to all disciplines in training, including unaccredited physiologists and specialty doctors.
* Work with Cardiology Consultants and Registrars to perform Stress Echocardiography, Transoesophageal Echocardiography, and Contrast Studies.
* Manage clinic capacity in partnership with the Team Lead, monitoring and auditing IP/OP requirements.
* Provide clinical and technical support to Oncology Trial teams for cardiac monitoring of trial participants.
* Participate in departmental audits as required.
Clinical Duties
* Perform and report transthoracic echo to BSE standards.
* Assist in Dobutamine Stress Echo, Transoesophageal Echo, 3D, and Contrast Studies.
* Work at all Trust sites as required.
* Provide Immediate Life Support within the department and throughout Trust premises.
* Maintain and ensure safety checks for all equipment; conduct daily checks and report/repair when necessary.
* Adhere to departmental protocols and national guidelines.
* Demonstrate competent manual handling skills.
* Recognise and act upon significant abnormalities.
* Prioritise own workload and that of junior staff.
* Report to medical colleagues about patients requiring review.
* Train and develop student physiologists, specialty doctors, and those undergoing echo training.
* Produce factual reports on adult transthoracic echocardiography, advanced echocardiography, and routine ECG.
QUALIFICATIONS / TRAINING
* BSc in Clinical Physiology (or equivalent).
* State registration with RCCP/AHCS.
* BSE Accreditation.
* ILS/ALS Current.
* SLIP Course completed.
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & EXPERTISE
* Proven experience of adult transthoracic echocardiography / non‑invasive cardiology.
* Independent practitioner in all areas on the job specification.
* Excellent ECG analysis skills.
* Ability to use audit tools.
* Evidence of CPD in specialist procedures; ANTT trained.
* Experience of advanced techniques.
* Experience of cardiac monitoring techniques in trial work.
* Ability to evaluate and act appropriately in emergency situations.
* Trainer for junior staff and students.
* Physiologist‑led stress testing experience.
