Senior Engineering Geologist – Guildford
Salary: £40,000 – £50,000. This is a permanent role within a well‑known, innovative environmental consultancy.
Responsibilities
* Project Management & Technical Delivery – managing ground investigations, including planning boreholes, scheduling lab tests, and ensuring projects meet budget, timeline, and safety standards.
* Geotechnical Reporting & Analysis – writing and reviewing complex technical interpretative reports, such as Ground Investigation Reports (GIR) and Geotechnical Design Reports (GDR).
* Site Investigations & Analysis – designing and conducting site walkovers, desk studies, and supervising field investigations to map geological hazards such as landslides, subsidence, or contaminated land.
* Engineering Analysis & Design – performing rock and soil logging to industry standards, using software to develop ground models, and calculating geotechnical parameters for foundations and earthworks.
* Mentoring & Leadership – providing technical guidance and mentoring junior staff and ensuring the technical quality of work prepared by colleagues.
* Client & Stakeholder Management – acting as a technical liaison with clients, consultants, and contractors to deliver solutions and present technical findings.
