Mahdlo Youth Zone is a state-of-the-art multi-million Pound location providing young people aged 8 to 19, and up to 25 for those with additional needs, engaging and exciting opportunities to try something new, seven days a week.
We’ve got incredible facilities including a 3G Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) pitch climbing wall, boxing gym, three court sports hall, sensory room, fully equipped gym including weightlifting equipment, recreation area and dance, arts, music and media suites and much more.
With more than 100 full-time, part-time and volunteer staff we have a fundraising target of £1.6 million this year, raised through our Patron's Programme, community fundraising, and events.
The role
We’re looking for a passionate and organised Mentoring Coordinator to join our team on a 18-month fixed-term contract to plan and deliver our mentoring programme for young people aged 8–19 (up to 25 with a disability).
In this role, you will:
* Recruit, train, and support a team of volunteer mentors.
* Match young people with mentors and guide their mentoring journey.
* Support young people facing challenges such as education, training, mental health, and self-development.
* Build strong relationships with families and partner agencies to create the best outcomes.
You’ll need excellent communication skills, the ability to engage with young people from diverse backgrounds, and a flexible approach to working evenings and weekends.
