Customer Team Member (18+) SPAR Thurcroft
14 Hours per week, possibly more as and when required. Various shifts. Monday–Sunday 6am–10pm. Must be willing to undergo Post Office financial vetting.
We have an exciting opportunity for a SPAR Customer Team Member. As a Customer Team Member at SPAR Thurcroft, you will play a vital role in supporting the store management team and creating a positive customer experience. You will assist in maximising sales and profit by carrying out allocated tasks to contribute to the continuous improvement of the store, ensuring great customer service through “Brilliant Basics, Moments of Wow, Food for later and Food for now!”
Responsibilities
* Customer Service: Greeting customers in a friendly and welcoming manner; answering inquiries about products and services and helping customers find items; processing purchases efficiently at the tills with a positive, friendly service; upselling selected products and highlighting multi-buy offers to support sales.
* Store Operations: Managing stock, checking deliveries, stocking shelves, maintaining a clean, organized sales floor, rotating stock for freshness and expiry dates; completing additional tasks such as date checking, stock and gap checking, price changes, promotional displays, and other duties as required; adhering to all company policies and procedures.
Key Skills / Knowledge
* Previous experience in a similar role and/or industry is preferred
* Reliable in following instructions and procedures with strong attention to detail
* Some understanding of retail legislative responsibilities and adherence capabilities
* Ability to contribute ideas for delivering exceptional customer service and driving the business forward
* Experience with a ‘Challenge 25’ policy is desirable
* Enthusiastic, team player with the ability to work independently
* Cash handling experience is preferred but not essential

* Salary: Up to £12.25 p/h (depending on age)
