We’re looking for a Director, Strategic Finance and FP&A to join us in Chelsea, London.
The Director, Strategic Finance and FP&A is a critical leadership role within Liberty Global’s strategic finance function. The role combines responsibility for capital allocation, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), and liquidity management, while also supporting broader strategic finance initiatives. The Director will lead the global management reporting and long-range planning processes, oversee group liquidity planning and reporting, and ensure optimal allocation of capital across the business. Success in this role requires strong financial acumen, a focus on value creation, and the ability to develop and lead a high-performing team.
What will you be doing?
Capital Allocation
1. Lead the Global Management Reporting and Planning process, encompassing KPIs, Adjusted EBITDA, Capex, and OFCF metrics.
2. Monitor and challenge OpCo & JV performance versus internal and external targets, analysing variances from plan and recommending course corrections.
3. Optimise and manage the reporting structure in the consolidated financial reporting system: developing, reviewing and testing the technical implementation of new and changed KPIs.
4. Benchmark Opcos / business segments to ensure capital is appropriately allocated and identify best practices to be shared across the Group.
5. Lead the Group’s long-range planning processes – the Long Range Plan and Long Range Roll.
6. Perform appropriate scenario / sensitivity analysis, in the context of macro events, competitive developments and strategy.
7. Co-ordinate with Investor Relations to support external messaging.
8. Develop and monitor in-year employee bonus plans and multi-year Executive LTIP schemes.
Liquidity
9. Lead the planning, consolidation and reporting of Group Liquidity, including performance monitoring versus internal and external targets.
10. Analyse deviations from original plans and provide recommendations for course correction.
11. Co-ordinate with Tax, Treasury and Technical Accounting to manage below-OFCF metrics (Interest Income, Interest Expense, Working Capital, Tax) in monthly reporting, rolling forecasts and long-term planning.
12. Support Strategy and M&A with capital structure and financing assumptions for standalone financials where relevant.
13. Optimise and manage liquidity-related reporting, ensuring consistent implementation of new and updated KPIs.
Strategic Finance & Growth Support
14. Provide ad hoc support on business planning and narrative development for senior management presentations (FLT, ELT).
15. Lead and manage the preparation of detailed financial models to analyze the impact of the transaction on key financial metrics and value drivers
16. Lead work with Strategy and / or M&A to challenge key business plan assumptions and ensure key finance inputs such as Tax, Treasury, Working Capital and Accounting are confirmed by the relevant subject matter experts
17. Support delivery of alignment of Corporate Shared Services and costs to the portfolio.
Leadership & Internal Engagement
18. Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing finance team, embedding a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
19. Facilitate relationship building between Liberty Global and portfolio businesses.
20. Contribute to Liberty Global’s internal initiatives, including recruitment, training, marketing and networking

21. Proven senior finance leadership experience, with strong FP&A and capital allocation expertise
22. Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail, while maintaining a strategic perspective
23. Excellent presentation skills and ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships
24. Creative and collaborative approach to problem solving.
25. Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams
PREFERRED EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS:
26. Professional qualification (CPA, CFA, ACA or equivalent) preferred.
27. Financial experience in budgeting, forecasting, business case development, modelling and project co-ordination.
28. Experience in international or Pan-European environments.
29. Prior exposure to Investment Banking, Private Equity, or Big 4 desirable
