University Hospitals Dorset are seeking a Band 6 Deputy Team Lead Pre‑Treatment Radiotherapy Radiographer based at Poole Hospital.
The post holder will work independently and deputise for the Team Leader radiographer in day‑to‑day management of the pre‑treatment unit.
They will make clinical decisions regarding patient condition and accuracy of treatment or planning technique with support when outside scope of clinical knowledge.
Main duties
Recruit a highly motivated, technically skilled and caring Therapy Radiographer to join the well‑established Pre‑Treatment team.
The role requires recent proven (within the past two years) post‑registration experience and competencies in therapeutic radiography CT scanning and pre‑treatment.
The selected candidate will play an active role in planning highly accurate radiotherapy treatments while delivering the highest standards of patient care. This fast‑paced and varied role encompasses CT, virtual simulation and mould room responsibilities.
Responsibilities include:
* Operating Philips Big Bore CT scanner, Mosaiq patient management system, Eclipse for virtual simulation, registration and planning.
* Utilising Gate CT‑Vision RT for 4D scanning.
* Manufacturing patient‑specific immobilisation in the dedicated mould room.
* Planning with Varian True Beam linacs, including Surface Guided Radiotherapy, Stereotactic Ablative Radiotherapy and tattoo‑less planning.

Person specification
Qualifications
* HCPC registration as a therapeutic radiographer.
* BSc (Hons) in Radiotherapy or equivalent accredited programme.
* Formal evidence of post‑registration study.
Experience
* Experience operating pre‑treatment equipment including CT scanners, virtual simulation software and clinical mark‑up.
* Canulation trained / experience in administering IV contrast media.
* Experience in mould room and manufacturing of immobilisation devices.
* Evidence of continuing education and professional development.
* Post‑registration experience using sophisticated radiotherapy equipment, treating patients with advanced techniques and competence in IGRT and IMRT technologies.
* Participation in planning specialised techniques such as 4DCT, vDIBH, SGRT, SABR.
* Radiographer lead breast planning/contouring.
Skills
