Role Overview

As our Beverage Technologist / Scientist, you'll be at the forefront of product innovation - formulating, testing, and scaling our RTD beverages and powdered blends. From developing recipes and running sensory panels to supporting industrial-scale trials with our manufacturing partners, you'll ensure every sip of PerfectTed is consistently world-class.

Key Responsibilities
Formulation & Innovation
* Develop and refine formulations for RTD beverages and powdered blends, ensuring consistency, quality, and sensory excellence.
* Design and run experiments to troubleshoot and optimise formulations and processes across lab, pilot, and industrial scales.
Scale-Up & Commercialisation
* Support trials with manufacturing partners, ensuring product feasibility, stability, and integrity at every stage.
* Translate lab-scale successes into scalable, commercially viable solutions.
Sensory & Quality
* Lead and participate in sensory evaluations, including descriptive analysis, to guide and refine product development.
* Ensure consumer insights and technical excellence inform final product decisions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
* Partner with operations, marketing, and commercial teams to align technical progress with business and consumer goals.
* Communicate findings clearly across departments and to leadership.
Requirements
Must-Haves:
Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field
2–3 years' experience in beverage product development
Strong hands-on expertise in formulation, sensory methodologies, and product optimisation Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
Passion for innovation, problem-solving, and continuous learning
Must have full right to work in the UK
Nice-to-Haves (but not necessary):
* Sensory training or panel experience
* Experience working with FMCG/start-up brands
* Knowledge of functional ingredients or health-focused beverages
