The Chef will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals, maintaining kitchen hygiene standards, managing stock, and ensuring smooth daily kitchen operations. The ideal candidate should be organised, reliable, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
* Prepare, cook and present dishes according to company standards
* Ensure food quality, portion control, and presentation consistency
* Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in line with UK food safety regulations
* Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering supplies
* Minimise food waste and control costs
* Ensure compliance with Food Safety and Health & Safety regulations
* Support menu development and seasonal specials
* Maintain a clean and organised workstation at all times
* Work effectively under pressure during busy service periods
* Train and support junior kitchen staff if required
Requirements
* Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred, particularly in catering or restaurant settings.
* Knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene standards is essential.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
* A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new culinary techniques.
* Excellent teamwork skills and a positive attitude towards collaboration.
* Ability to follow instructions accurately and work under pressure during busy service times.
