We are seeking a nurturing, enthusiastic, and dedicated Nursery Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive early years setting within a primary school in Greenwich, starting as soon as possible. As a Nursery Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality early years provision aligned with the EYFS framework. You will create a balance of structured learning and play-based experiences that support children’s social, emotional, physical, and academic development. Building strong relationships with children and families will be central to your role.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, deliver, and assess engaging nursery sessions in line with the EYFS framework
* Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment
* Support children’s development across all areas of learning
* Use observation and assessment to track progress and inform planning
* Differentiate activities to meet the needs of all children, including SEND and EAL
* Promote positive behaviour, routines, and independence
* Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and Early Years staff
* Build strong partnerships with parents and carers
* Maintain accurate learning journals, records, and assessments
* Contribute to EYFS planning, moderation, and whole-school initiatives
* Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
* Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an EYFS teaching qualification
* Have experience teaching in Nursery or Early Years
* Demonstrate a strong understanding of the EYFS framework
* Be nurturing, patient, and enthusiastic
* Have excellent classroom organisation and behaviour management skills
* Be creative, reflective, and adaptable
* Show a strong commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing
