Working hours/pattern: 30 hours per week - Monday to Friday 8.30 - 3.20, breaks during the working day will be unpaid.
Pay scale: Surrey Pay Grade 3.3 - 38.6 weeks of the year, term time + 3 inset days. FTE £24,330 - £17,264 pro rata salary.
Start date: as soon as possible. Fixed term contract till 22nd July 2026.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as part of a two person team providing 2:1 learning and development support for a pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs under the direction of the Head of Centre/Class Teacher. This role is based in The Haven which is a high COIN (communication and interaction needs) centre which we co-lead with Freemantles Special School. This provision is for 21 high COIN pupils, supporting them to successfully access as much mainstream inclusion as is appropriate for them to join, whilst delivering a curriculum which promotes the development of the whole child and maintaining good emotional well-being.
We are seeking to appoint a person who will act with honesty and integrity, have skills as a Teaching Assistant that builds positive, professional relatinships with colleagues, the pupil and their family.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
5. Working within The Haven to deliver learning and development support.
6. Working with a child 2:1 to support their needs.
7. The role includes supervising the children at lunchtime and visits outside the classroom.
8. To use skills in literacy, numeracy and ICT to assist the pupil's learning.
9. Monitoring and evluating the pupil's progress particularly social, emotional and practical skills.
10. To carry out practical tasks such as setting up activities and clearing away.
11. Maintaining a safe and positive environment for all learners.
12. To implement behaviour management strategies to support a consistent approach.
