Ashburnham Road Surgery in Bedford is looking for a friendly, reliable administrator/receptionist to join our team on a part-time basis for 25 hours a week, working 1.30pm to 6.30pm with an hours break, Monday to Friday.
We are looking for the staff who have previous experience in the NHS GP practice.
Main duties of the job
* Answer enquiry line and carry out the duties associated with the main desk
* Answer appointment telephone and deal appropriately with calls
* Make accurate patient appointments on the telephone and at reception
* Open of the post, scanning and distribute as appropriate
* Provide administrative support to the patient team
* Prescription processing during extended hours
* Monitor and maintain security at all times in accordance with the practice protocols
* Deal with other callers to the surgery, such as reps, deliveries etc
* Filing and shedding
* Scan and read coding of hospital letters
* Record minutes of meetings
* Referral letters
* Monitor and maintain security during working hours in adherence with the practice protocol
* Provide support to the practice management and staff, including general support in times of staffing difficulties
* Leave work area clean and tidy (even if this means hoovering)
