Description

Description Learning Curve Group are a national training and education specialist we work with further education providers, employers, and learners to help them achieve success. We have strong values which are all centred around our learners – and that is how we believe it should be, as we impact on over 100,000 of them every year. Our ‘Purple People’, the dedicated and passionate people of LCG, help us to deliver success no matter what, to achieve our vision to ‘transform lives through learning’.

Role Information

Transforming lives through education is at the heart of what we do.
At Learning Curve Group Schools, we provide exceptional alternative education and vocational learning pathways to support young people at risk of disengagement. Our innovative programmes are changing the landscape for schools—enhancing engagement, boosting attendance, and supporting learners to achieve meaningful outcomes.
We are expanding and are looking for a Business Development Officer (BDO) to drive school engagement across regions. You’ll play a key role in building relationships with senior leadership teams, selling our qualification and intervention programmes, and analysing school-level data to shape bespoke offers that improve student outcomes.

Your Key Responsibilities:
Sales and Engagement

* Develop and manage partnerships with senior leaders in schools (SLT, Headteachers, SENCOs, Behaviour Leads) to promote our internal and external alternative provision (IAAVT/AAVT) and qualifications.
* Present our curriculum offer and demonstrate its alignment with schools' improvement plans, pupil needs, and statutory requirements.
* Attend SLT meetings, Local Authority panels, and MAT forums to position LCG Schools as the provider of choice for targeted interventions.
Data-Led Solutions
* Analyse school-level data (e.g. persistent absenteeism, suspensions, exclusions, SEND trends, pupil premium needs) to develop tailored solutions that address key school priorities.
* Use insights to proactively offer flexible and effective pathways for vulnerable learners, including early intervention and reintegration support.
Lead Generation and Pipeline Development
* Generate new school leads through proactive outreach, open days, networking events, and cold/warm calls.
* Maintain and build a robust pipeline of partner schools, tracking all engagement through CRM and ensuring a high conversion rate from initial contact to signed agreements.
* Organise and manage school information events, centre visits, and stakeholder showcases to drive interest and trust.
Learner Recruitment Support
* Work alongside Centre Managers and Regional Operations Managers to support learner referrals from schools and track successful onboarding.
* Support the creation of referral packs, pricing discussions, and programme scheduling with schools.
* Liaise with internal QA and Safeguarding teams to ensure schools are supported from referral through to student induction.
Reporting & Performance
* Maintain up-to-date reports on weekly engagement, school onboarding activity, and learner start numbers.
* Meet performance KPIs linked to new school contracts, learner start targets, and regional growth.
* Attend regular meetings to report outcomes and plan strategic growth with the Head of Schools and Business Development team.

You’ll Need These Qualities:
* Strong ability to build relationships with senior school leaders and decision-makers.
* A passion for education and belief in the power of alternative provision to transform lives.
* Analytical mindset – able to review school data and spot opportunities for impactful interventions.
* Outstanding communication skills and the ability to present with confidence.
* Organised, target-driven, and comfortable managing multiple opportunities simultaneously.

Desirable (but not essential):
* Background in education sales, education consultancy, or alternative provision.
* Understanding of current school challenges (e.g. behaviour, P.A., SEND, exclusions).
* Experience using CRM systems to manage sales pipelines.

Why Join Us?
* Be part of a mission-led organisation making a real difference.
* Work flexibly and independently while being supported by a strong team.
* Help shape the future of education through bespoke, student-focused solutions.

If you’re ready to make an impact and help schools transform lives through targeted intervention and qualifications, we’d love to hear from you.
