Purpose of the Role
The Fundraising Manager will create, develop, and nurture relationships with high‑value individuals and major donors, partners, and local communities to maximise income. The role encompasses the full cycle of income maximisation from research and cultivation to solicitation and stewardship.
Key Responsibilities
* Identify, research, and cultivate new sources of income.
* Secure additional prospects through networks and sector exploration.
* Implement and manage effective account plans for each supporter, providing financial income and expenditure reports.
* Develop and manage relationships ensuring consistent stewardship.
* Manage a portfolio of high‑net‑worth individuals and major donors.
* Work across wider fundraising networks and communities to identify engagement opportunities.
* Arrange and manage fundraising events.
* Manage and support volunteers.
* Travel overseas for donor engagement when required.
* Support and collaborate with the National Fundraising Manager UK on strategy and performance.
* Work within Institute of Fundraising best practice and comply with legislation.
* Identify innovative fundraising opportunities.
* Adhere to policy, procedures, health and safety, and safeguarding standards.
* Build capacity of the READ Foundation fund‑raising team.
* Occasional flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Safeguarding Responsibilities
* Adhere to READ’s safeguarding and PSEA policies at all times.
* Report safeguarding concerns or SEA incidents as per READ’s procedures.
* Participate in mandatory safeguarding training and reviews.
* Cooperate with safeguarding investigations and audits.
* Promote a safeguarding culture and mitigate risks.
