Priory Wellbeing Centre Birmingham is looking to recruit a Visiting Consultant Psychiatrist to join the team. The role focuses on general adult outpatient treatment for depression, anxiety, stress, addictions, and eating disorders. The centre also offers a dedicated private service for children and young people (CAMHS) and autism assessments for adults and children.
This is a self‑employed opportunity to partner with Priory as an independent Consultant, fully supported through the Priory approach and suitable for individuals new to independent private practice or those looking to expand an existing private client base.

What you’ll be doing
You will be part of a compassionate team committed to patient wellbeing, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. As a Visiting Consultant you will play a key part in recovery, assisting qualified staff with assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, and undertaking routine tasks as directed.
* Taking clinical responsibility for patients, including multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk reviews, strategic reviews, and development of a therapeutic milieu.
* Supervising the referral and admission process, contributing to pre‑admission assessments of young people with other team members.
* Offering a psychiatric perspective to the multidisciplinary team in relation to assessment, formulation, and treatment of adults.
* Contributing to management meetings and clinical governance meetings for the services provided at the hospital and developing service strategy.
What you’ll bring to the role

* Clinical expertise: hold a CCST/CCT (or equivalent) in Psychiatry with experience in inpatient settings supporting individuals with significant mental health difficulties.
