A Global Investment Bank is currently seeking a Senior Tax Manager (Director level) to join its UK Tax team on a permanent basis.
The role is based in London and sits within a high‑performing Group Finance function, offering strong visibility across Front Office, Legal, Compliance, Finance and global Tax teams. This is an opportunity to operate at the centre of complex international banking tax matters, supporting business activity across multiple products and jurisdictions.
This position is ideal for an experienced corporate tax specialist with deep technical expertise in UK corporation tax, strong knowledge of financial products and hands‑on experience advising within a banking environment. Exposure to transfer pricing, international tax and Bank Levy is highly desirable.
The Senior Tax Manager will act as a key advisor to the business—providing transactional tax support, evaluating tax risk for new activities, ensuring tax compliance, and overseeing critical areas such as transfer pricing and bank levy calculation.
Key Responsibilities
Advisory & Transactional Support
* Provide UK corporate tax advice on lending transactions and new business proposals.
* Review and comment on tax forms, tax representations and residence certificates.
* Ensure all advice aligns with UK tax law and the Banking Code of Practice.
New Activities & Products (NAP)
* Assess tax and reputational risks associated with new products, clients or activities.
* Provide technical input into new product approval processes.
Risk Management & Governance
* Ensure compliance with UK tax legislation, internal tax policies and Group standards.
* Maintain documentation standards and support the drafting of internal tax guidance.
* Deliver training and updates on relevant tax developments to business teams.
Transfer Pricing
* Work with Paris Tax to maintain transfer pricing documentation and methodologies.
* Coordinate local TP file production with external providers.
* Review UK execution of Group transfer pricing policies.
Bank Levy
* Prepare the annual Bank Levy computation for the UK branch.
* Collaborate with other UK entities within the Crédit Agricole Group to compile the UK consolidated figure.
Other Responsibilities
* Provide ad hoc corporate tax advice across the business on projects and new initiatives.
* Support internal reporting and liaise with senior stakeholders across multiple functions.
Experience & Skills Required
Essential
* CTA and/or ACA qualified.
* Extensive UK corporate tax experience within the banking sector.
* Strong understanding of financial products and their tax implications.
* International tax experience including transfer pricing and familiarity with double tax treaties, BEPS and Pillar II.
* Ability to clearly communicate complex tax matters to non‑tax audiences.
* Strong attention to detail, commercial judgement and the ability to work under pressure.
Desirable
* Experience preparing Bank Levy calculations.
* Understanding of VAT.
* Knowledge of IFRS accounting.
