Are you an experienced Service Manager with Agricultural and groundcare industry experience and looking for a new challenge?
Our client is looking for a Service Manager to join their family-run business based in Daventry.
The Service Manager holds a key leadership position within our client's dealership, overseeing the service department operation and ensuring the delivery of exceptional customer service. You will be responsible for managing a team of service technicians. Your role will play a critical part in optimising service efficiency, maintaining high-quality standards, and achieving departmental goals. You will need a strong knowledge of machinery and will be expected to provide guidance, support, and training to service technicians, fostering their professional growth. This role collaborates closely with departments such as sales and parts to ensure seamless operation and customer satisfaction.
What We Are Looking For?
* Previous experience within the garden, groundcare, agricultural, or related industry
* Strong management background
* Proficiency in PC and IT systems, including MS Office and DMS systems (preferably IBCOS Gold, but training can be provided)
* Experience in managing and developing a team
* Highly organized in a busy environment
* Experience in following and leading processes & procedures
* Ability to maintain strong customer relationships
Your Role:
* Oversee the day-to-day operations of the service department, including scheduling and assigning service technicians to customer requests and ensuring timely completion of service jobs.
* Coordinate with the parts department to ensure the availability of required parts and manage inventory levels to support efficient service operations.
* Monitor and analyse service department performance metrics such as utilization, recovery rate, work in progress, external hours, service productivity, customer satisfaction, and first-time fix rates, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to enhance performance.
* Provide technical guidance and support to service technicians, assisting in complex repairs, troubleshooting, and resolving customer complaints or escalations.
