Overview
We are looking for enthusiastic, flexible and committed people to work in our hospital to support the smooth running of our wards and therapy service. Our team at Lings Bar works to support the rehabilitation and reablement of patients with the goal of returning home and living independently or transferring successfully to a care provider of their choice. One of our posts will be set as permanent on one ward.
Eligibility
* Full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use are required for this post, although reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.
* Applicants must pay for their DBS check (cost £26.40 standard, £54.40 enhanced); the cost will be deducted from salary over the first two months. The annual DBS Update Service fee is £16 per year.
* Applicants requiring a Skilled Worker Visa must meet the salary threshold and be eligible for a Certificate of Sponsorship (details at https://www.gov.uk/skilled-worker-visa).
Shift Pattern
Working shifts consist of three types: 7 am–3 pm, 3 pm–11 pm and 11 pm–7 am, seven days a week. Shifts are set over a three‑month period so that the worker can plan, with other posts available on each ward.
Responsibilities
* Assist nursing and health care teams with general nursing care.
* Assist the therapy team with planned activity groups and rehabilitation goals for patients.
* Provide flexible support to each team when absences occur due to training or sickness.
* Complete a full Trust induction and subsequent site inductions over the first month.
* Work effectively within the Multi‑Disciplinary Team and meet the needs of the registered population.
* Follow patient‑tailored rehabilitation, nursing care and exercise programmes, planning and prioritising workload with short‑notice flexibility.
* Contribute to the public health agenda by raising awareness of health and well‑being needs.
* Promote good health and self‑care through education and rehabilitation.
* Ensure effective communication between clients, carers and families via direct contact, telephone, electronic or written notes.
* Maintain accurate and contemporaneous documentation.
* Be personally accountable for maintaining skills, knowledge and competence in the use of SystmOne.
Training and Development
* Complete all required Trust and site induction training in the first month.
* Keep up to date with ongoing professional development and competency checks.
