Working as part of the sales team and working closely with the Senior National Account Manager. Your role will involve supporting the delivery of exceptional plans with key grocery and online customers to ensure our products achieve maximum sales during critical trading periods. There is a view for the role to grow, with direct account management in time
.Account Management & Growt
* hSupport the development and execution of exceptional customer business plans to drive sales, particularly during key trading periods (e.g. seasonal peaks, promotions)
* .Understand the P&L for assigned accounts, supporting delivery of volume, value, and profit targets through accurate forecasting and performance tracking
* .Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with both internal teams (Marketing, Category, Supply Chain, Finance) and key customer contacts (Buying, Category Planners, Supply Chain)
* .Collaborate with Category Management to develop compelling sell-in stories and range reviews
Commercial & Operational Excellence
* Manage key account fundamentals including new line setup, promotional planning, EPOS analysis, and invoice reconciliation
* Conduct regular store visits to monitor execution, assess competitor activity, and identify emerging trends to inform strategy
* Utilise customer data systems to optimise availability, compliance, and promotional performance, ensuring maximum ROI
* Support new product launches, ensuring smooth execution and customer buy-in Insights & Reporting
* Lead on sales analysis, providing actionable insights to optimise pricing, promotion, placement, and product performance (4Ps)
* Support the wider sales team with weekly reporting, maintaining key business documents (e.g. trade calendars, customer performance trackers)
* Contribute to annual business planning sessions, presenting performance updates and growth opportunities
Profile
We’re looking for a commercially savvy, proactive, and collaborative National Account Executive to help drive Peter’s Yard’s growth. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced FMCG environment, combining sales acumen with a passion for food and retail trends. Alongside living our values, here are the most important things we’re looking for from you.
* Education & Experience
* Educated to Degree level
* 1+ years in FMCG sales, retail, or a related field (e.g. Category Management, Marketing, Supply Chain)
* Experience as a National Account Executive (or similar) is ideal, but we welcome candidates with transferable commercial skills and looking to learn
* Commercial Rigour
* Proven ability to support the delivery of measurable business results (e.g. sales growth, margin improvement
* Numerate – understanding of P&L’s and margins with good attention to detail
* Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data modelling) to analyse trends and build persuasive commercial case
* Relationship Builder
* Strong influencing skills to engage buyers, internal teams, and cross-functional partner
* Collaborative approach – you balance Peter’s Yard’s goals with customer needs
* Drive & Initiative
* A self-starter who spots opportunities and acts on them
* Highly organised, with excellent written/verbal communication
* Challenges the status quo – identifies inefficiencies, proposes new ways to drive growth, and isn’t afraid to test bold ideas
* Passion for Retail & Food
* Keen interest in market trends, competitor activity, and retail execution
