In the role of a Recreation Area and Holiday Club Coordinator, you will be tasked with several key responsibilities. You will line manage the Deputy Holiday Club Coordinator and lead the planning and execution of our Holiday Club during out-of-term periods. Working directly with children and young people, you will aim to develop their social skills and boost their confidence through engaging activities. Building positive relationships within our youth work team and with visitors is essential, as is regularly evaluating our program's outcomes, including reporting on the delivery of the Holiday and Activity Fund. Flexibility is crucial to meet the diverse needs of our members, including disadvantaged and disabled youth. Additionally, you will manage budgets effectively, strive to achieve set KPIs, and encourage creativity in program delivery. Specific duties related to managing the recreation area involve overseeing outdoor recreational activities, managing staff and volunteers, budgeting, and ensuring engagement and innovation. Flexibility, creativity, and safeguarding are consistent priorities across all responsibilities. Collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team and alignment with the Unitas values are integral to your role. Hours of Work: Part Time, 24 hours per week (including evenings and weekends) This role will work according to a shift rota as produced by the Delivery Team. The general pattern of working will be: During term time (except the two weeks before each Holiday Club): working on session (evening/weekend) twice a week, admin day in the office one day a week. The two weeks before each Holiday Club: working on session (evening/weekend) one a week, two admin days in the office. During the school holidays: four days a week (Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday) running Holiday Club (either 7.30am-3.30 pm or 10am-6 pm). To be successful as their Recreation Area and Holiday Club Coordinator, you will have: Face to face activity delivery, working with children and young people (aged 8- 19 and up to 25 with additional needs) both in groups and individually Experience of delivering sports and/or arts activities and/or targeted personal development programmes Experience of supporting young people who are disaffected, underachieving and/or have social or emotional barriers to participation Strong commitment to young people and an ability to engage and build positive relationships Ability to develop good professional relationships with young people and adults Ability to work with young people to develop their social education by providing programmes of activities, services and facilities that are fun and enable young people to develop Ability to coach, encourage, motivate and provide reliable support for young people Meet the Organisation: Who We Are and What We Do Unitas are an independent charity and purpose-built youth centre for Barnet's young people aged 8 to 19, and up to 25 for those with additional needs.
