Overview
We8217;re working with a fast-growing, purpose-led healthcare business on the hire of a Financial Reporting Manager to join their evolving finance function.
This is a key role reporting into the Head of Reporting, offering genuine exposure to statutory reporting, IFRS, audit, tax and complex accounting matters, with a clear succession and development pathway built into the role.
Its well suited to an ACA / ACCA qualified accountant, ideally from practice or recently moved into industry, who enjoys being hands-on while helping to raise the technical standard of a growing finance team.
The Role
You8217;ll take ownership of the organisation2 s financial reporting framework, ensuring high-quality, compliant reporting while helping strengthen controls and processes as the business scales.
This is not a box-ticking role youe8217;ll be trusted to apply judgement, challenge where needed, and work closely with senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the preparation of statutory accounts in line with relevant accounting standards (IFRS preferred)
* Own technical accounting matters, including drafting papers and advising on complex transactions
* Manage corporation tax, VAT and deferred tax, working with external advisors
* Act as a key contact for external auditors and lead the year-end audit process
* Ensure balance sheet integrity, reconciliations and robust financial controls
* Drive continuous improvement across reporting processes and systems
* Support and mentor junior members of the finance team
* Work closely with the Head of Finance as part of a long-term succession plan
About You
* Strong technical accounting background with IFRS exposure
* Recently from practice or not long out, with solid statutory reporting and tax experience
* Confident across audit, controls and balance sheet ownership
* Able to explain technical matters clearly to non-finance stakeholders
* Proactive, detail-oriented and comfortable operating in a growing, evolving business
