Role: Teaching Assistant
Location: M7, Salford
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (8:30 AM – 3:45 PM, 30-minute break)
Pay: GBP 13.69 – GBP 15.87 per hour
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Long-term, ongoing (with potential to become permanent)
Reeson Education is seeking a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Salford (M7). This is a full-time, long-term opportunity for a Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting KS2 pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs.
As a Teaching Assistant in this role, you will provide a mix of 1:1 support and small group interventions, helping pupils to access learning, regulate behaviour, and thrive in a structured environment. The school is looking for a proactive Teaching Assistant who can build strong relationships, remain calm under pressure, and bring positivity into the classroom.
Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities
* Deliver 1:1 support for pupils with SEMH needs in KS2.
* Work as a Teaching Assistant to provide group interventions that boost social, emotional, and academic progress.
* Support teachers with planning and classroom activities.
* Use positive behaviour management and de-escalation strategies.
* Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to promote engagement.
* Assist in creating a safe, supportive learning environment as a Teaching Assistant.
Teaching Assistant Requirements
* Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant in a UK school setting.
* Understanding of SEMH needs and strategies for behaviour support.
* Patient, adaptable, and resilient approach.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Enhanced DBS (or willingness).
* Commitment to a full-time, long-term Teaching Assistant role.
