Pay Scale: £27,663 - £33,386 per annum (actual)

We are seeking a passionate Director for Business/Finance to guide our business operations and play a central role in the support we provide to those affected by acquired brain injury. As Director, your key duties and responsibilities will include:
* Leadership & Compliance: Oversee all business operations, ensuring compliance with legal, health and safety, and financial regulations. Develop and maintain policies and present monthly business reports to the Board of Trustees.
* Financial Management: Prepare and monitor budgets, manage accounts and payroll, oversee returns to Companies House and Charity Commission, and maintain strong financial controls for both core functions and projects.
* Office & Systems Oversight: Ensure efficient office administration, maintain and develop IT systems, and manage contracts and suppliers while upholding data protection responsibilities as the designated Data Protection Officer.
* Facilities & Health and Safety: Maintain a safe and compliant office environment, coordinate maintenance and risk assessments, oversee fire safety and first aid, and address incidents or issues promptly.
* Team Leadership & HR: Direct and support the Administration team, oversee recruitment and training, conduct regular supervision and annual reviews, manage absence and leave, and lead on grievance or disciplinary matters as necessary.
* Strategic Support: Deputise for the Chief Executive when required, attend key meetings, champion equality and diversity, and contribute to the ongoing improvement of organisational standards and service delivery.
Experience and Education
· Relevant degree, professional qualification or equivalent experience in business administration, finance, or related field preferred.
· Significant experience in financial management, ideally within a relevant sector.
· Proven record overseeing business operations, compliance, and financial reporting.
· Experience with budget preparation and monitoring.
· Ideally experience in payroll, and statutory returns.
· Proficient in office administration and IT systems.
· Ideally some experience of team leadership, including recruitment, supervision, and HR processes.
· Familiarity with UK charity governance, Companies House, Charity Commission, and data protection legislation will be advantageous.
· Professional certifications (ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA) advantageous but not essential.
· Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and sector-specific training.
