Join our team at a dynamic small manufacturing company based in Newbury. As they continue to grow, they are seeking a talented Financial Accountant to join them in a temporary-to-permanent capacity.
Job Description
1. Manage all aspects of the company's financial accounting processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
2. Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
3. Conduct month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.
4. Assist in budget preparation, forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making.
5. Reconcile bank accounts and monitor cash flow to optimise financial efficiency.
6. Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors during audit and tax filing processes.
7. Maintain compliance with accounting standards and regulations, implementing internal controls as necessary.
8. Provide financial analysis and insights to support operational and strategic initiatives.
9. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and improve financial performance.
The Successful Applicant
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
* Previous experience in a financial accounting role, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
* Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.
* Strong understanding of financial principles, regulations, and best practices.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
* Proven ability to work independently and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
