Job Title: Waking Nights Support Worker Location: Ashbourne Salary: Up to £28,800 Working Hours / Shift Pattern: Waking Nights (including evenings, weekends and public holidays as required) Employment Type: Permanent Sleep-ins: Required as part of rota Service: Residential Children’s Home Service Users: Children with Learning Disabilities Qualifications Required: Level 4 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) desirable but not essential Experience Required: Previous experience working with children, particularly those with learning disabilities or additional needs, desirable The Home: Our client provides high-quality care and support to children with learning disabilities, supporting them to overcome adversity and reach their full potential. There is a strong emphasis on education, life skills and promoting independence within a safe and nurturing environment. Who we are looking for: We are seeking a compassionate, patient and dedicated individual who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs. You will: • Provide direct care and support, ensuring safety, dignity and well-being at all times • Assist with personal care, including hygiene, dressing and feeding where required • Support educational and recreational activities within the home and community • Develop positive, trusting relationships that promote emotional development and self-confidence • Implement and follow individual care plans tailored to each child • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and external professionals • Safeguard young people in line with policy and procedure • Manage behaviours using de-escalation techniques and positive reinforcement • Maintain accurate records of progress, behaviours and care needs • Build positive relationships with relatives and outside agencies • Contribute to a clean, safe and nurturing home environment You must hold a Full UK Driving Licence with business insurance.
