Overview
Arts Therapist/ Psychotherapist to join the Dunstable CAMHS Team within the South Bedfordshire Specialist CAMHS Service. The post delivers a Psychotherapy / Arts Therapies service in Dunstable CAMHS, offering flexible, evidence-based care, assessments and interventions, including specialist and generic CAMHS assessments and consultation to other clinical pathways in the Dunstable area (e.g. local CAMHS schools teams).
Job Details
Band 8a, part-time permanent role (8A preceptorship pathway available for newly qualified or less experienced clinicians). Location: Beech Close Resource Centre, Beech Road, Dunstable, LU6 3SD. Pay: £55,690 to £62,682 per annum pro rata. This post is funded to 8A but applications from newly qualified clinicians may be considered for a band 7 to 8A preceptorship. Management supervision and monthly Psychotherapy/Arts Therapists meetings are provided. Hybrid working with clinic-based work and remote options where applicable.
Responsibilities
This senior role includes:
* Providing psychotherapy / arts therapies within Dunstable CAMHS
* Offering flexible, evidence-based care, assessments and interventions
* Contributing to wider clinical and management supervision for CAMHS Therapists
* Collaborating with the South Bedfordshire CAMHS Lead for Psychotherapy / Arts Therapies to develop the discipline
* Co-ordination and development of Dunstable area CAMHS trainees
* Liaising with colleagues to provide specialist training and promote recovery-focused arts therapies using co-produced approaches
* Having input into training, QI projects and leadership roles as appropriate
Person Specification
Essential
* Qualified as Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist
* Registered member of ACP
* Registration with HCPC as a Music Therapist, Art Therapist/Art Psychotherapist or Dramatherapist OR for Dance Movement Psychotherapists registration with ADMP UK
* Educated to Master’s level or equivalent, or demonstrable experience of senior professional, clinical and management work
* Demonstrable CPD and post-graduate qualification or training in specialist knowledge and skills
Desirable
* Clinical supervision training
* Proven ability in standard setting and audit implementation
* Proven ability to undertake research
Experience
* Previous experience as a psychotherapist/arts therapist in a core CAMHS team
* Experience in a multi-disciplinary community CAMHS and multi-agency networks
* Experience of managing and supervising junior staff
* Experience of service development and working in a culturally diverse area (desirable)
* Experience of running reflective practice sessions for other disciplines and agencies (desirable)
UK Registration and Qualifications
* UK registration current with appropriate professional body
* Clinical qualifications and training to Masters level or equivalent
* Evidence of continuing professional development
* Eligibility for Clinical Supervision Training (desirable)
