We are working with a well-established and respected business based in Norwich to recruit a part-time Financial Controller. This is a newly created role, offering a broad remit across all areas of finance and the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development and success of the business.
The company operates in a technical, project-based environment, with a strong reputation for quality and long-term client relationships. As the business continues to grow, they are now looking to strengthen their internal finance function with a dedicated, experienced hire.
Key Responsibilities:
Full ownership of the finance function, including oversight of one direct report
Preparation of monthly management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning
Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to senior management
Manage VAT returns, payroll processes, and liaison with external accountants
Maintain and improve financial controls, systems, and procedures
Provide commercial and financial insight to support decision-making
Day-to-day use of Xero accounting software
About You:
Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or QBE with relevant experience
Strong technical skills in financial and management reporting
A hands-on approach suited to a small business environment
Comfortable working independently and engaging with non-finance colleagues
Experience using Xero or similar cloud-based accounting systems
